In development of the operation plan drawn up by the Air Combat Command No.4 and as part of the strategies to approach the community, the activity of the Second farmers Market was carried out with success in Melgar, Tolima. It is an activity that sought to integrate the inhabitants of the region and producers, creating spaces for purchase and acquisition of healthy products, directly from the fields to the city.
This initiative arises of the latent needs of the community to get their products out of the field and be able to sell them directly to the inhabitants of the municipality and tourists, who actively approached the points of sale with all the biosecurity measures to acquire their food baskets.
About 200 producing families benefited from this activity that had the inter-institutional support of institutions such as the Colombian Air Force, the mayor of Melgar, Empumelgar, the Louis Pasteur Emergency Center and independent entrepreneurs who, in a unified way, have been supporting and promoting the development in the region.
The Colombian Air Force will continue to work for the most vulnerable communities, carrying out operations aimed at ensuring social development through coordinated efforts with the political and administrative authorities to meet the needs of the inhabitants.
