A Huey ll helicopter, equipped with the Bambi Bucket system, was deployed by the Colombian Air Force to support the work of extinguishing a large fire in the National Natural Park El Tuparro, in the department of Vichada.
In response to the call of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, nearly 5,000 gallons of water and fire retardant liquid have been dropped at key points to stop the fire's progress.
Thanks to the arduous work of the crews of the institution, it has been possible to reduce the fire, which affected several hectares of vegetation.
Through the National Center for Personnel Recovery of the Colombian Air Force, aircraft and equipment will continue to be available to provide support for environmental emergencies, in coordination with risk management agencies.
