Cundinamarca. In coordination with the National Disaster Risk Management Unit, UNGRD, Firemen, as well as personnel of the National Army and the Colombian Air Force of the Air Combat Command No. 4, aircrafts were arranged to support the work of extinguishing the fire in the village of Jamaica, sector Los Curos, a rural area of Nilo, in the department of Cundinamarca that has already burned more than 80 hectares of dry forest.
The crew of the Bell 206 Ranger of the Air Force, overflights with specialized firefighters, in order to verify the state of the fire and determine the main sources.
Later, a Huey II helicopter of the Air Combat Command No. 4 with its Bambi bucket system, conducts continuous water drops of water and liquids to reduce the conflagration and attack on the heaviest points of fire, preventing the fire from spreading and generate more damage to the environment.
Today, more than 5,000 liters of water have been thrown in 20 consecutive water drops form the helicopter over the most hit areas.
