Considering the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation relations between Colombia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-NATO, the Colombian Air Force participated in the conference of the program The Operational Capabilities Concept Evaluation and Feedback Programme (OCC E&F) 2025, held at the White House (Morocco). The aforementioned conference brought together NATO's global partners involved in the OCC E&F program, a group where the Colombian Military Forces entered in 2021, seeking the certification of military resources, training and evaluation of Military Forces in special operations on land, sea and air; in order to achieve NATO military operation standards.
In the particular case of the Colombian Air Force, three military resources are registered in the referenced program: In-Flight Refueling (AAR); Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR & PR); and Air Traffic Services (ATS MODULE). These resources were carefully selected and applied for certification, with the aim of transforming and aligning the current standards of the institution with those of NATO. In this way, the Colombian Air Force aims to generate preparation for training exercises, humanitarian missions and peace missions; with the forces of this military coalition.
In this edition of the OCC E&F conference, Colonel Jos茅 Luis Avenda帽o, air attach茅 to the Kingdom of Belgium, with concurrence in Germany and Sweden and Lieutenant Colonel Juan Esteban Monsalve, Partner Staff Officer in NATO, participated professionally, actively and prominently in bilateral meetings and exhibitions of air resources of the Colombian Air Force.
The participation in this environment achieved the projection of trainings conducted by NATO, aimed at the already mentioned air resources of the FAC; in addition to the exchange of evaluators, providing the possibility for Colombian Air Force personnel who are certified to participate in international evaluation exercises with NATO, to gather experience that can be replicated at the institutional level.
