This weekend, and due to the serious situation in Central America after the transit of the hurricane ETA and the recent tropical storms that have kept the red alert, the Colombian Air Force through the Air Command of Military Transport, CATAM, and in compliance to the plans of the National Government has deployed its aircraft in an effort to reach quickly and timely countries such as Honduras, Panam谩 and Guatemala that were hit by the natural disaster, distributing humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable people.
More than 50 tons of aid were transported this weekend to Guatemala in the Boeing 767 Jupiter, which completed two humanitarian flights following the guidelines of the Presidency of the Republic, in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, UNGRD, have joined efforts in order to achieve this humanitarian mission at the international level.
The cargo includes food Kits, drinking water tanks and filters, mats and toilet elements. It should be noted that it was carried out carrying out all biosafety protocols in the framework of the current pandemic.
This is how CATAM deploys its aircraft and crews to reflect its commitment and solidarity towards communities that require support in the midst of any emergency situation.
