In the department of Meta troops rescue by air six people trapped by the overflow of the Duda River.
The intense rains in the Department of Meta continue to increase the number of victims in different municipalities, this time, the alarms sounded by the sudden rise of the Duda River, which directly harmed the good physical condition of six people in a rural area of difficult access of La Julia, municipality of La Uribe, where a Colombian Air Force helicopter arrived to rescue them.
Having into account the imminent risk of these citizens, including a minor of 10 months, two children and three adults, to be dragged by the current of the water, the crews of the Air Combat Command No.2, in support of the work carried out by the soldiers of Rapid Deployment Battalion no.3, carried out the search and Rescue Mission Angel.
Once on the aircraft, the people were transported to the battalion and given safely to the local authorities, who were waiting to transport them to the shelters provided for the inhabitants harmed by the rain wave.
In total, the rescue efforts carried out by the military forces resulted in the recovery of nine people, three of whom were extracted from the water and six more, evacuated in the helicopter of our air military institution.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force will continue to use its resources to protect the good physical condition of our compatriots through the joint work that the National Personnel Recovery Center (CNRP) carries out with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) and the Joint Task Force Omega.
