In order to face the new situations due to the increase of new positive cases of Coronavirus, the Colombian Air Force works on air transfers of critical patients of COVID-19, in coordination with the National Center for Recovery of personal – CNRP. So, the transfer of two patients who were in critical condition due to COVID, from the department of Antioquia until the country's capital city was possible.
The aeromedical transfer was carried out in a Casa C-295 aircraft, attached to CATAM, where the patients were assisted and stabilized by military medical personnel. In the same way, they were transported in Intensive Care Units, which were prepared to operate autonomously during the flight to the city of Bogotá.
In a mission of more than eight hours, where all the protocols and biosecurity measures implemented by the Institution for the prevention of contagion of Covid-19, were followed, it is intended to safeguard the lives of patients.
In this way, the Institution continues to carry out aeromedical transfers of personnel with Covid-19 from any part of the national territory, fulfilling the commitment towards Colombians, being day by day the hope of those who suffer difficult moments.
