In accordance with the established coordination and the procedures to be carried out for an aeromedical evacuation, through the National Center for Recovery of Personnel of the Colombian Air Force, an UH-60 aircraft was arranged to carry out the transfer of the Mayor of the municipality of Nechí Miguel Franco, who was injured in a traffic accident.
The mayor and another official suffered an accident in a vehicle when they were traveling on the road that leads from Caucasia to Nechí, which caused multiple injuries to these two men, who due to their state of health were taken aboard a Black Hawk helicopter of Air Combat command No.5, from this municipality of the lower Cauca region in Antioquia to the San Vicente Hospital Foundation in Rionegro, to receive specialized medical assistance.
During the flight, medical staff and rescuers provided immediate care. They monitored them permanently and kept the vital signs of the two patients stable until they reached a specialized care center.
