The men and women of the Colombian Air Force, work for the mission, and daily conduct air operations to maintain the dominance of air, space and cyberspace, in defense of sovereignty, independence, good territorial condition and constitutional order, simultaneously, they work tirelessly to contribute to the ends of the State to be participants in a greater cause, the construction of the social fabric, which is an end that unites us as a country.
This is how the Colombian Air Force, through the Air Combat Command No. 2, has distinctive resources that are used not only to maintain the security of the departments of Meta, Guaviare and Vaup茅s, but are in the same way strategic means for the progress of their territories where the care of life, the protection of natural resources and social, economic and cultural growth are ensured.
On one hand, about 210 lives have been saved after the timely operations of the Colombian Air Force in the regions of the Orinoquia and Amazonia over remote and difficult to access areas so that only the crews reach to help vulnerable people or in emergency situations that, due to natural disasters, accidents or urgent medical situations, require assistance and transported to safe places and with access to specialized medical services.
On the other hand, the permanent accompaniment of aircraft, helicopter and remotely manned aircraft that this Military Air Unit possesses, has been essential to provide support to departmental and municipal government authorities to overcome crises such as those occurred this year with the Villavicencio aqueduct, which have been overcome after complicated aerial maneuvers that have led to the insertion of large-volume equipment in this area in order for this company to continue the rehabilitation of the aqueduct to continue supplying the capital llanera city with drinking water.
It is noteworthy that environmental institutions, control institutions, relief agencies, government agencies for road operation, among others, are some of the institutions supported in the different missions that show that the operation of our command is a strategic axis of the Colombian east that increasingly cover the different economic, social and ecological sectors.
So far in 2022, a little more than 180 hours have been flown in support of these institutions, transporting 539 officials so that they can carry out essential services to protect the rights of Colombians and solve contingencies with which peace of mind and well-being can be provided to citizens.
During the 103 years of history of our Colombian Air Force, support for the people has been a pillar of our institutional policy, this is how the conquest of these spaces in pursuit of the progress of our entire territory is part of the raison d'锚tre of our work and we will continue to carry out air military operations to ensure our compatriots the achievement of peace and socio-economic growth of the country.
