Responding to the International Call of the Government of Honduras, the Colombian Air Force has sent its aircraft to carry out transport, rescue, search and rescue missions, after the devastating Hurricane Eta through Central America, which has left thousands of victims.
A helicopter UH-60 Black Hawk in configuration Angel equipped with equipment such as crane, rescue basket penetrator of jungle and a Zodiac boat will remain deployed in Honduras to conduct operations of humanitarian support; this aircraft takes off from Rionegro, Antioquia, to make a tour around nine hours, passing through Panama, Costa Rica and Salvador to get to Honduras.
In the same way, a C-130 Hercules aircraft will arrive in this country with 11.5 tons of humanitarian aid and members of the Civil Defense of Colombia with a rapid deployment system in support of Health to support the contingency that the inhabitants are going through.
The Colombian Air Force spreads its wings and crosses borders, reaching to the most remote places where its aircraft are required. Therefore, a C-295 aircraft will in the same way be sent, in the coming days, to support two provinces in the north of the Republic of Panama and will remain for three days carrying out personnel and cargo transport missions, thus contributing to the assistance of the emergency caused by the same hurricane, which reached its shores as a tropical depression.
Once again, the Colombian Air Force crosses borders to reach where people need it most, spreading its wings, bringing hope to the inhabitants hit by the hurricane's transit, working together with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management and chancelleries, to provide help to neighbor countries.
