In the frame of the geostrategic visit to the different Air Bases and Training Schools of the Colombian Aerospace Force, a delegation of the Capitan Manuel 脕valos Prado Aviation School of the Chilean Aerospace Force (FACH) arrived at the facilities of the Air Maintenance Command, with the aim of getting to know the resources and innovation, research and development projects of the aeronautical industry.
Upon arrival at CAMAN, the Chilean delegation made up of Officers and Cadets, were received by Colonel Abelardo Moreno Lemos, Commander of the considered cradle of aeronautical logistics, CAMAN, who gave them a welcome greeting and in turn informed them of the strategic importance of this Unit for the Colombian military aviation and the maintenance tasks conducted by the men and women whose experience raises the quality in their jobs.
The visit, part of the academic activities of the prestigious Chilean institution, seeks to strengthen ties between the two air forces and deepen mutual knowledge in the field of aviation. During the tour, the delegation had the opportunity to explore the various workshops and hangars where repairs and overhaul of the 2,888 aeronautical components are carried out. In addition, the specialized technicians presented ongoing innovation and research projects, including the major maintenance of equipment such as the AC-47T, C-212 and the UH-1H to HUEY II helicopter, demonstrating CAMAN's commitment to the preparation of the Force's aircraft, as well as the fulfillment of the Institutional mission.
This visit symbolizes another step in international cooperation and the strengthening of the aeronautical industry in the region; exchange of knowledge and experiences that enrich both institutions and paves the way for future collaborations for the benefit of aviation and the security of their nations.
