One hundred and sixty members of the Military Forces of the military forces and the National Police completed important training in cybersecurity.
The Ministry of National Defense made decisions in the matter, since there is a growing number of cyber incidents due to cybercrime.
With the objective of strengthening the competencies necessary to the Military Forces to respond to the challenges of digital transformation and technology, the Ministry of Defense, together with the University of the Andes, facilitated the training of 160 members of the Military Forces of the military forces and the National Police in cybersecurity issues, in order to enhance Colombia's resources to face possible attacks on the technological infrastructures of the defense sector.
The Mario Laserna auditorium, of the Universidad de los Andes, was the place chosen for the group of 160 members of the Military Forces of the Military Forces to receive their diploma on the occasion of the specialized course held during the months of September, October and November as follows: Diploma in cyberdefense for the management of cyber incidents, and also the Diploma in prevention, management and assistance in case of cybercrime.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense for Strategy and planning, Ra煤l Alfonso Guti茅rrez Romero, this activity of strengthening knowledge and instruction 鈥渨as a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, preparing our officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, executive level and police officer of the military forces and the National Police, to face challenges in the management of cyber incidents and to implement technological tools under world-class standards."
Both upper-level courses, given to 80 members of the Military Forces of the military forces and 80 of the National Police, lead the graduates to manage topics of cybersecurity, cloud computing, cyber threats, digital forensics and Cyber Incident Management.
鈥淚t was an enriching experience both professionally and personally, because it leads us to strengthen the knowledge and tools to provide support in case of cyber incidents," said Colombian Navy Chief Petty Officer Fabio Alberto Osorio Betancur, a graduate in cyber defense for the management of cyber incidents.
During the Protocol event, coordinator of the graduates of the University of the Andes, professor Yesid Donosso, warned about the importance of strengthening Colombia's resources in cyber defense and cybersecurity, "our country understood and took action to strengthen the human talent of our Military Forces, in order to carry out a training process to close the knowledge gap, generating expertise and skills in graduates," explained the professor.
