Bogot谩. The Race for the Heroes 10k, led by the Matamoros Corporation, closed with a flourish in its twelfth edition. On this occasion, more than 7,000 Colombians citizens ran and paid tribute to our military veteran heroes wounded in combat.
Cristina Carrizosa, Executive Director of the Corporation, said, "Today we are meeting for the same cause, paying homage to the more than 13,500 heroes wounded in combat that the armed conflict in Colombia has left, for whom the Matamoros Corporation works to provide a project of life for them and for their families."
For more than 12 years, the "Race for Heroes" has been an initiative of the Corporation, which seeks to send the message to all Colombians on the importance of recognizing the value of these men and enhancing their legacy.
The event seeks to raise awareness about the existence of this huge number of wounded who require the assistance of the Matamoros Corporation, through its education programs, sponsorships for high performance sports, employment and housing in temporary homes.
In all the events that bring together the Colombian population, the Matamoros Corporation seeks to generate a bond with the citizens, which makes it possible to visualize those veterans and give them the place they really deserve, for their great courage and service to the country.
In recent years, the Corporation has worked to provide our beneficiaries more than 40,000 opportunities in the areas of education, high performance sport, employability and accommodation through our temporary homes.
