In Bogotá on 10 and 11 August, the seventh meeting of the “Supplementary Agreement conducted by the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica and the Government of the Republic of Colombia on maritime cooperation in the territorial waters corresponding to each State for the fight against illicit drug trafficking, the illegal exploitation of the exclusive economic zones and the search and rescue of ships lost” took place.
The event was attended by crew members from both institutions, where the respective Heads of Delegation, Rear Admiral Camilo Ernesto Segovia Forero, Advisor to the Permanent Advisory Group of the Colombian Navy Command and Commissioner Martin Arias Araya, Commander of the Costa Rican National Coast Guard Service, signed the Minutes of the VII meeting, thus agreeing on different understandings to continue strengthening naval and maritime cooperation, especially in the issues of operations, intelligence, instruction and training, and naval industry.
Undoubtedly, this meeting led to reaffirm the ties of partnership, cooperation and trust that the relations of the two Institutions have had, with the purpose of continuing to improve interoperability and Resources to contribute to comprehensive maritime security in the region.
