Through this result, the commercialization of more than two million doses of the drug on the international illegal market was prevented.
As part of a maritime interception operation, units of the Colombian Navy found 840 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which were being transported aboard a Go Fast type boat 17 nautical miles from Barranquilla.
This result was thanks to the effective synergy of the military operation conducted by Naval Aviation units and the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla, who detected a suspicious ship, crewed by three individuals of Nicaraguan nationality.
Immediately, a helicopter of the Colombian Navy was deployed to find the boat, which was intercepted at sea by a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR and taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla, where a review was carried out, finding a double bottom with 840 rectangular packages.
In coordination with units of the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH was carried out, which left positive result for cocaine hydrochloride.
The arrested and the material found were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office to continue to conduct the prosecution process.
Thanks to this powerful operation, more than 28 million dollars were prevented from entering the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in this region of the country.
