In compliance with the Bicentenary Heroes Of Freedom Plan, the Hercules joint stabilization and consolidation task force, in a joint military operation with the National Navy, the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade, inter-agency with the Office of the Attorney General of the nation, achieves the destruction of a gigantic cocaine production complex, where more than a ton of narcotics was found in the rural area of Tumaco, Nariño.
Guided by naval intelligence information, units of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.40, of the Joint stabilization and consolidation Task Force Hercules, troops of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Battalion No.4 of the National Army and members of the technical investigation Corps, CTI, of the prosecutor's office, were deployed to an area in the village of El Congal, where the complex was composed of seven structures for the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
At the site were found by troops 1,058 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, ready to be packed and illegally trafficked to Central American countries and 420 kilos of coca-based paste. In the same way, 400 kilograms of solid precursors, 3,024 gallons of liquid precursors, 01 Martian (distillation tower), 08 microwave ovens, a compressor, a drying system with light bulbs, a hydraulic press, an energy generator, 2,000 latex packaging, a precision scale, two filtration equipment, 636 identification stamps, among other elements used for the production of the narcotic. In addition, in the complex there were two shotguns of different calibers.
According to intelligence, this complex had the capacity to produce two tons of narcotics on a monthly basis. With its dismantling it is estimated a loss of more than 6,910 million pesos in the finances of the residual organized armed group Los Contadores, since the narcotic would have gone to countries of Central America and the United States.
The precursors were destroyed under controlled conditions at the place, under strict safety standards and conserving all measures for the preservation of the environment, under the supervision of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the prosecutor's office.
This result hits the financial structure of this criminal organization, responsible for multiple crimes against the Military Forces and civilians.
