Within the framework of joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operations of the National Army with the Colombian Aerospace Force, the DIJIN of the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, thanks to intelligence information, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the department of Casanare, in recent hours, destroyed a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory, in rural area of the municipalities of Maní and Orocué, Casanare.
Information collected led to the finding of this laboratory that would belong to the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo. In this structure made of wood and plastic and hidden in a wooded area, more than 40 kilos of cocaine were found by troops, as well as liquid and solid precursors for the production of this narcotic.
In the same way, two cell phones, USB sticks, a rudimentary centrifugation machine for mixing chemicals, a rudimentary refiner, a worm (a rudimentary distillation tower), a packaging mold and plastic countermarking machine, 4 microwave ovens and 200 paper envelopes for drying, among others, were found by troops at the place. The material was put into custody of the authorities, and the structure was destroyed in controlled conditions, according to the protocols and legal parameters in force.
The elements would be valued at approximately 1500 million pesos (about USD 370,000.00), so with this result the finances of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo are significantly hit, limiting the possibility of maintaining the drug trafficking business in the departments of Casanare, Meta, Boyacá and surrounding areas.
