Bogotá. Starting the school year with the right foot is the purpose of the children of the Rural School of Cerrito de Funza, Cundinamarca. In order to achieve this, the Military Air Transport Command CATAM, distributed 153 pairs of tennis and equal number of shirts to complement the sports uniforms of these children who have already started the school year; they haven’t completed the necessary elements for their educational process.
With resources of the Plan “Corazon Amigo” of CATAM, the voluntary financial contribution of the military and civilian personnel of the Unit, tennis and white shirts were purchased for all students of this rural school in the municipality of Funza, sponsored by the Air Force to contribute to the educational process of these children.
In this visit to the air base, the children in the same way knew the aircrafts that fly in CATAM and were in the mighty C-130 "Hercules", where for a few minutes they dreamed of being aviators, they met the cockpit of the plane and greeted its crew. In the same way, they received a demonstration of the aeronautical firefighting machine and took photos with those who fulfill this important task.
