This crime against humanity is considered a serious violation of human rights.
Since 2010, at the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), the International Convention for the protection of all persons from Forced Disappearance was adopted, which is why, since then, every 30 August is commemorated the International Day of victims of Enforced Disappearance.
In view of the above, the Joint Strategic Transition Command – CCOET, pays tribute to each of the victims.
This unit will continue to contribute to never forget each of the victims of Enforced Disappearance in order to honor their names and their devotion to the homeland. The effort and sacrifice made by each of the forcibly disappeared members of our military forces and the suffering of their families drive us to continue to build a better future for all Colombians.
As a tribute to these people who were taken from their homes, the CCOET commemorates the International Day of Enforced Disappearance, reiterating to Colombia and the whole world that these men and women who disappeared while fulfilling their duty, continue to be present in the institutional memory, which is why their families are accompanied with the sole purpose of finding them or clarifying the circumstances of their disappearance, all of this in search of the truth.
