This man was the head of finance of the organized crime group Los Yariguíes and was wanted by Interpol with a blue notice.
In a coordinate operation with the Police and inter-institutional with the Prosecutor's Office, troops of the National Army arrived in the municipality of Paz de Ariporo in Casanare, to report the arrest of alias Simacotica, wanted by Interpol blue notice and included in the listl of the most wanted of the department of Santander.
This individual would be the alleged chief financial ringleader of the organized crime group Los Yariguíes and had an arrest warrant for the crimes of extortion, manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms and association to commit aggravated crimes.
According to the investigations, the arrested man committed crimes in a rural area of the department of Santander, especially in the municipalities of Chima, Contratación, Simacota, Hato and Galán and was carrying out construction work in that department to evade the authorities.
Alias Simacotica was put into custody of the judicial authority and with his arrest this gang would be dismantled, because other arrests of other of its members would have already been made.
With this result, it contributes to the tranquility of the region, since this type of structures, attack against the good physical condition, the life and the security of the inhabitants of the Communal Province. These operations against these groups demonstrates the coordinated work carried out by the authorities to reach the most remote regions in order to find and neutralize the operations of those who commit crimes in the region.
