In the course of military operations carried out in Arauca, Arauquita, Saravena and Tame, it was possible to capture 10 members of organized armed groups, who attack the population in the northeast of the country.
During the weekend, the National Army in a coordinated and inter-institutional work with the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, gave a new blow to the economic and criminal capacity of the Gao Eln with the capture of 10 of its members.
In the first operation, in urban area of the municipality of Saravena it was possible to capture three individuals, including two women and a man known by the alias 'Rufo'. According to the investigations, these people were in charge of carrying out criminal intelligence for the execution of terrorist attacks, the collection of money through extortions against merchants, cattlemen and transporters in the region.
In the same way, troops of the National Army reach the village Flor Amarillo de Arauca, three individuals were captured, accused of being part of the networks supporting the terrorism of the Rafeal Villamizar Group of the "Domingo Laín Sáenz" Front. In the operation troops found communication equipment, four shotguns, three short range arms, three magazines and 200 cartridges of different calibers.
Meanwhile, in Las Américas neighborhood of the aforementioned municipality a man was arrested. He was wanted by the court of the municipality of Arauca for the crimes of aggravated homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime and manufacture of firearms.
On the other hand, by means of a checkpoint in the municipality of San Salvador en Tame, it was possible to capture another individual, who hours earlier had stolen a motorcycle in the village of Hato Corozal in the border of the department of Arauca and the department of Casanare.
Finally, in the village Mata Oscura in the municipality of Arauquita, a vehicle with foreign license plates was detained, two people were inside transporting approximately 200 gallons of contraband DIESEL.
