During the Apolo military operation, carried out in the municipality of Planadas, south of the department of Tolima, two individuals were captured, who belonged to this residual armed group that commits crimes in the south of the country.
Two presumed ringleaders of the residual mobile column group Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz were captured by troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.18 of the Zeus Consolidation and Stabilization Operational Command, of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, in the Apolo Military Operation that was carried out in the municipality of Planadas.
This operation, which was carried out in coordination with men of the Sijín (Criminal Investigation Section of the National Police), and an inter-institutional work with the 164th Prosecutor, led to the capture of two other individuals, apparently members of this same armed group. This group committed crimes in the department of Cauca and southern Tolima.
Among the four captured there is an individual known as Joel, the second ringleader, and alias El Duende, apparently the third ringleader of the sixth group structure of the self-appointed front Ismael Ruiz. All the detentions took place in the departments of Cauca and Guaviare, where apparently in a rural area of the municipality of Gaitania, the municipality of Planadas, they generated uneasiness among civilians.
After several days of follow-up by intelligence sources, it was determined that these individuals were carrying out criminal acts in the municipality of Planadas, Ataco and Rioblanco, so they would be allegedly involved in criminal acts in that department. The weapons found during the operation were sent to a ballistic study to determine the possible participation in alleged homicides.
At the time of the captures, several firearms were found, as well as war material, three motorcycles and three cellphone and communication equipment, elements that could possibly be used to carry out terrorist attacks against the security Forces and civilians in southern Tolima.
Those captured were put into custody of the authority, three of whom, after a public hearing, were put in prison for the crimes of advising organized criminal groups, manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons, carrying of ammunition of restricted and exclusive use of the Military Forces and, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms or explosives, accessories, parts or ammunition, and conspiracy to commit crimes. The fourth detainee was released.
