Troops of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade of the Third Division of the National Army, in compliance with the Heroes of Liberty Bicentennial Plan, captured three individuals who were traveling in a vehicle, with approximately 165 kilograms of narcotics, which apparently belonged to the finances network of the Jacobo Arenas substructure of the organized armed group GAO-r.
Through the installation of a control checkpoint in the village of Yarumal, in the district La Mesa, in the municipality Pat铆a, in the department of Cauca, the search for a truck was ordered, finding inside 33 packages containing approximately five kilograms of, apparently, coca base paste and three barrels with an average of 15 gallons of coca leafs in process.
Once the procedure was completed, thanks to the prompt reaction of the Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion No. 3, the captured and the narcotics were taken by helicopter to the city of Popay谩n to conduct the respective judicial procedure.
Intelligence information indicates that these individuals were at the service of this structure of the GAO-r. A judge issued a detention warrant to the individuals and were charged with the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
With this result, the financial and logistic system of this structure of the residual organized armed group is heavily hit, preventing this substance from being commercialized in the department and the rest of the country.
The Twenty-ninth Brigade confirms its commitment to attack all the factors of crime that harm the Cauca department and guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of the region.
