Within the framework of H茅roes de la Libertad (Heroes of Liberty) Operations and Operaci贸n Sim贸n Bol铆var (Sim贸n Bol铆var Operation) against the Organized Armed Group (GAO) ELN, in a military intelligence work, troops of the General Alberto Murillo Gonz谩lez Engineers Battalion No. 10, of the Tenth Brigade of the National Army, in a work coordinated with the Antiterrorist Group of the National Police, achieved the capture of two individuals, apparently members of the northern war front, of the GAO ELN, in Cesar
After a year of monitoring and coordinated investigative work, military units located in the municipality of La Paz, Cesar, alias El Negro or Janer, the main ringleader of the urban cell of the northern war front Jos茅 Manuel Mart铆nez Quiroz of GAO ELN. This person, according to the information provided by the competent authorities, would have more than 21 years in the terrorist structure and an extensive criminal record.
Alias El Negro or Janer is accused of armed proselytizing activities, installation of flags and graffiti alluding to this criminal structure in the department of Cesar. Similarly, he would have been in charge of organizing the terrorist attack on the director of the La Tramacua prison in Valledupar in 2018, among other crimes. This person was wanted by the 133rd Attorney Office of the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations, for the crimes of rebellion and conspiracy for terrorist purposes. At the time of his capture, he had war material, explosives and cash.
Simultaneously, in the municipality of Becerril, Cesar, the individual known by the alias Evo was captured, who would be a member of the urban cell in Becerril, and would have been in charge of criminal intelligence; buying firearms and ammunition; political organizational work (TPO); mass movement, and obtaining logistic material that would allow this structure to continue committing crimes in this area of the country.
