The captures were made in compliance with a search warrant issued by the specialized prosecutor's office 162 of Florencia, in the department of Caquetá.
Among those captured there is alias “Lupi,” an alleged group ringleader of the residual organized armed group Structure 62.
In a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional operation, troops of the Omega Joint Task Force in coordination with the National Police, captured three alleged members of the residual organized armed group Structure 62, in the department of Caquetá.
The operation took place in the urban area of the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, in Caquetá, where the troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.2 and the Navy Infantry Fluvial Battalion No.31, of the Specific Command of El Caguán of the Omega Joint Task Force, in coordination with the National Police Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group). They achieved the capture of three individuals, who at the time of the search, had a 32-millimeter revolver, six 32-millimeter bullets and three 40-millimeter grenades.
In addition, a seal referring to residual GAO 62 and important information on ranchers and merchants of the region was found at the site.
Those captured and the materials were put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process, where they must face charges for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes and the manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms and ammunition of exclusive use of the Military Forces.
