The individuals were caught in flagrante delicto when they received the money result of the extortion.
After the timely denunciation made by a person who had been the victim of extortion calls where the individuals demanded 15 million pesos, troops of the National Navy and the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI of the Attorney General's Office, in a coordinated operation captured four men for the crime of extortion, in the center of the Buenaventura District.
The alleged criminals, active members of the Security forces, intimidated the victim through calls, in addition they demanded that the money should be given in a sector of the commune eight of the main city port of the Colombian Pacific.
Units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Buenaventura and members of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), launched an operation of search and control of area, taking into account the information provided by the person who was the victim of extortion. This is how it was possible to capture these four individuals in flagrante delicto, at the moment they received the money.
During the operation, it was in the same way possible to find eight million pesos, part of the 15 million pesos they demanded, seven cell phones, two nine-millimeter Sauer pistols, a 38-caliber Cassidy revolver, six cartridges, two magazines and garments of private use of the National Police, these elements were used to commit the criminal acts.
The material found and those captured were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, to be prosecuted for the crime of extortion.
