This individual is one of the most wanted in the region of La Orinoquía and Llanos Orientales.
Through coordinated and inter-agency military operations conducted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Casanare, Gaula of the Police and CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), it was possible to capture the third ringleader of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Substructure 28.
The operation was carried out in the urban center of the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, as far as the military arrived, to make effective an arrest warrant against alias Arbey or Morroco, being accused of committing the crimes of aggravated extortion, Association to commit aggravated crimes and illegal carrying of weapons.
According to military intelligence information, this individual would have perpetrated for more than 18 years illicit activities, and would have belonged to the Adonay Ardila Pinilla front of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln and he was also a member of the 28th front of the FARC, where he was appointed as chief of finance.
Alias Arbey or Morroco, after alias Antonio Medina, would be the third in command of the GAO-R substructure 28, a position he would have assumed after the capture of alias Fredy Hormigo last September. This individual would be in charge of carrying out extortions to the different economic guilds of the Department of Casanare, through calls, pamphlets or videos, in the same way he obtained war material for the illegal group and carry out criminal intelligence against the Military Forces.
The man was put into custody of the authority to continue with the judicial process.
This important result is a powerful blow to this illegal armed group, since they lose logistical, political, organizational and financial criminal capacity in the northern municipalities of Casanare, the municipality of Tame, in Arauca and part of Boyacá.
