Along with this ringleader, in the same way, troops captured five other individuals, who are allegedly responsible for the murder of several social leaders and officials of the UNP (Protection National Unit).
In military operations, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the Colombian Air Force, the National Navy, with the support of the National Police, the Attorney General's office and in response to early warnings No.019 and 068 of 2018, in the urban area of the municipality of Riosucio, in Chocó, captured an individual known as Mario, who would be the political ringleader of the substructure Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva, and five people who would be members of the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo.
Alias Mario, according to authorities, 41, with more than four years of criminal experience in the Clan del Golfo, would be in charge of the control of illicit income and the collection of money from extortions. This individual who served as councilor of the municipality of Riosucio had an arrest warrant in force for the crimes of conspiracy for aggravated criminality and manufacture, carrying and trafficking of firearms of exclusive use of the Military Forces.
During the operation, five other individuals were in the same way captured. They would be part of the criminal component of the Pablo José Montalvo Cuitiva substructure. They are said to be alias Araña, alias Américo, and alias Ivan, alias Antonio and alias Emiro, who had communications equipment, long weapons and a lot of cash.

Those captured were put into custody of the judicial authorities and they were put into prison, for the crimes of conspiracy for aggravated criminality and manufacture, carrying and trafficking of firearms.
