The National Army runs through different municipalities of the department to raise awareness on health and safeguard the wellbeing of children and adolescents.
The Multi mission Heroes of the Infantry Battalion No. 28 'Colombia', attached to the 13th Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the Municipal Council of Nilo, department of Cundinamarca, provided a recreational activity to 46 children of the school Colegio “Mis Sabios”, with ballooning activities, clown shows, musical artistic presentations, among others, filling the students of this school with joy.
Parallel to this activity, in the municipality of Ubalá, the awareness raising squad of the Special, Energy and Roads Battalion No. 13, the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute, ICBF, and the municipal administration carried out an activity called “Tetatón” (breast feeding activity), with recreational activities for 102 First-time mothers who received adequate guidance on how to maintain good nutrition during pregnancy and the importance of breastfeeding. The beneficiaries received presents, refreshments, music, among others.
