Surveillance operations in border areas have been intensified in the south-east of the country thanks to the resources of the Air Combat Command No. 6, CACOM 6, of the Colombian Air Force, through the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft, APR, equipped with technology to conduct continuous overflights, monitoring efficiently and in real time, contributing to the control of strategic areas with the borders with Ecuador and Peru.
These overflights are carried out to counter transnational crimes and alert the authorities about any situation that may disturb law and order in the region, thanks to its ability to operate discreetly and in hard-to-reach areas, surveillance has been strengthened, risks reduced and the reaction time of the Military Forces optimized.
CACOM 6 has increased efficiency in border protection, providing greater security to local communities and improving procedures and standards for the detection, identification, interception, neutralization and apprehension of people and aircraft trying to illegally enter the country or carry out activities that disrupt the national order.
