Amazonas. In the midst of a joint and Inter-Institutional work held in coordination with the National Army and the Colombian Air Force, in the framework of the Binational Development activities Day “Colombia-Peru 2018”, the troops helped the birth of an indigenous baby, in the Department of Amazonas.
In the village Tarapacá, in the department of Amazonas, an indigenous woman arrived in search of medical assistance due to her state of pregnancy, in the frame of a joint and Inter-institutional activity in the framework of the Binational Development Day Colombia - Peru 2018.
The baby was born in optimal conditions and thanks to the timely assistance, mother and son are in good health.
In the same way, in this day that counted on the participation of more than 150 men and women of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel, it was possible to benefit more than 2,100 people, including children and adults from indigenous communities; 7,600 services took place free of charge.
During three consecutive days there were consultations in pediatrics, pneumology, speech therapy, obstetrics, optometry, dentistry, minor surgery and nutrition, as well as recreational activities, “cinema under the stars” and distribution of humanitarian aid.
This activity was supported by institutions such as the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation, the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute, the National Reporting Office, the Children Vision International Foundation and Cine Colombia.
