Within the framework of the Artemisa Campaign, the Colombian Air Force continues to work jointly and inter-institutionally in order to contribute to strengthening the care and conservation of the environment and ecosystems in the south of the country.
On this occasion, military personnel of the Amazonas Air Group, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Brazilian Army of the Solimoes Battalion, joined forces to commemorate by supporting a reforestation activity led by the Mayor's Office of Leticia, which was carried out in the Iane neighborhood of the municipality.
During the activity it was possible to plant about 180 fruit and timber trees with the aim of enriching the forest and the water resources of the sector, taking into account that reforesting provides clean water and food, and helps to have clean air and combat global warming. In addition the idea is to create an impact on the inhabitants by remembering the importune of taking care of the environment on recycling day.
