With the purpose of continuing to increase interoperability, aimed at strengthening a hemispheric and regional airspace that is increasingly safer and calmer for citizens, at the Air Combat Command No. 5, the third Chiefs of Staff meeting conducted by the Colombian Air Force and the Ecuadorian Air Force was held in Rionegro, Antioquia.
Through these bilateral mechanisms, the aim is to strengthen the ties of partnership not only between the two Air Forces but in the same way between the nations, whose relationship and cooperation has demonstrated the importance of exchanging experience and knowledge on issues of common interest, moreover, when we are in a context of globalization, in which the strengthening and establishment of alliances for the projection and positioning of the resources of the military operation of both Air Forces is fundamental.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Carlos Fernando Silva Encuentro, Second Commander and Chief of Staff FAC, who received his counterpart Brigadier General Mauricio Salazar Machuca, Chief of the General Staff of the Ecuadorian Air Force and his entourage.
During the visit to the House of the Brave Falcons, the Ecuadorian delegation made a tour by the Military Unit's facilities, getting to know the science and technology projects that are carried out of the Aerospace Technological Development Center for Defense, CETAD, in addition to the tactical resources and the military operation of the UH-60 Black Hawk and Harpia aircraft for the protection and defense of the inhabitants.
In this way, the Colombian Air Force continues to conduct cooperation programs in the aerospace sector of the region and the hemisphere, aware of the importance of air superiority for the defense of sovereignty.
