At the military base of the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 4, in Tumaco - Nariño, a bilateral meeting was held. It was conducted by the Chiefs of the Naval Operations Staff of the Navies of Colombia and Ecuador, in order to strengthen interoperability in the projection and execution of naval operations against drug trafficking for this year 2023.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Admiral Orlando Grisales Franceschi, Chief of Naval Staff for Operations of the Colombian Navy, together with Rear Admiral Óscar Noboa Estrella, Commander of Naval Operations of the Navy of Ecuador, who accompanied by their delegates discussed combined and simultaneous naval operations, with the purpose of continuing to counter the criminal operations of groups outlaw, who make use of the sea and rivers as mobility routes for the drug trafficking chain and related crimes in the border area.
In the same way, during the meeting they verified the operational strategies that they have been carrying out through the coordination conducted by the intelligence agencies, which have led to high-impact operational results against the different illegal groups that commit crimes on the Colombian-Ecuadorian border.
The Colombian Navy, through the Pacific Naval Force, will continue to conduct joint and combined operational efforts in the border area with the neighboring country of Ecuador, in order to maintain the frontal fight against drug trafficking, the main factor of instability for both nations.
