Nariño. In the framework of the military and police campaign 'Atlas', the Joint Task Force Hercules, the National Police, the National Navy and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, captured thirteen people in recent hours and confiscated weapons and explosives in the rural area of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño.
Through investigations work and 19 search operations in the village La Guayacana, municipality of Tumaco, Nariño, troops found five pistols of 9mm and 7.65mm, two rifles with six magazines, two revolvers (38mm and 32mm), a shotgun, eight units of pentolite, three grenades of fragmentation of 40mm, two grenades MGL, six cellphones and three barrels which inside contained abundant ammunition.
The joint, coordinated and inter-agency operation conducted by authorities resulted in the capture of nine people. This operations takes place after the murder of three CTI officers, killed with a firearm in La Guayacana sector.
According to information, the individuals and the weapons belonged to the Organized Armed Group "Oliver Sinisterra", commanded by Walter Arizala Vernaza known as 'Guacho'.
