Thanks to the joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work in the region, during the current year more than 800 kilograms of narcotics have been found including coca paste base and marijuana.
Through military operations against drug trafficking in the department of Caquetá, troops of the Infantry Battalion No.34 Juanambú, of the National Army, in a coordinated work with the National Police and interinstitutional with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, found 28 kilograms of coca base paste that were being transported in a private vehicle in the municipality of Florencia.
The operation was carried out at a checkpoint, where after checking a car, about 40 packages with the narcotic were found by troops. Both the driver of the van and the material were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution.
The arrested man will have to answer for the crime of manufacturing, carrying and trafficking narcotics.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the Twelfth Brigade of the Army will continue to work in a coordinated manner with the other regional authorities to counter crimes such as drug trafficking, and in this way work to raise the security and well-being of the Caqueteños.
