In a joint operation, the Colombian Navy and the National Army found a cocaine laboratory, in the rural area of Las Brisas, municipality of Simití, in the department of Bolívar.
The structure built in wood and plastic, was found by troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.17 and the National Army. Inside there was a significant quantity of liquid precursors, as well as about a ton of solid precursors, including two improvised rudimentary equipment used to manufacture the illicit substance, known as "Marciano" and "Gusano", electricity generators, a compressor, a scale, microwave ovens, packing machine, precision scale and a freezer.
With the destruction of this cocaine, laboratory, which had a capacity to produce 100 kilograms of cocaine per month, valued at 700 million pesos, it was possible to prevent this money resulting of the commercialization of the drug, from entering the financial structures of the front “Luis José Solano Sepúlveda ”of the ELN Organized Armed Group.
