After the displacement of 73 families of the indigenous communities of Las Colinas and Villanueva, seated on the river Purrich谩 in the Lower Baud贸 region, in the Department of Choc贸, product of the work of members of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, ELN in their territory, the authorities of the Bajo Baud贸 conducted a special committee for transitional justice to establish the routes of care that lead to the restoration of rights of these indigenous reservation.
During the meeting, the Municipal Mayor together with representatives of the Colombian Navy, the National Police and other municipal authorities, analyzed the situation and through the Personer铆a, the visit of a group of the International Red Cross was requested.
The 324 members of these indigenous reserves are in displacement condition in the community of Puerto Granado, where the authorities establish the necessary means to activate a humanitarian route to provide them with primary care.
For its part, the Colombian Navy maintains troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.22 to prevent the work of these organized armed groups that are disputing for control of the Purricha River, because of its strategic location as a route for the mobility of illegal substances, putting at risk the safety and tranquility of the communities settled in this sector of the Pacific region of the department of Choc贸.
In the same way, the troops carry out operations against the organized armed groups, GAO, Clan del Golfo and ELN, which with their criminal operation violate norms of International Human Law. That is why, this year, the operation of the Navy of Colombia in this area of the Pacific coast has led to the capture of 15 members of Organized Armed Groups, the finding of 20 rifles, 728 cartridges of different calibers, 100 kilograms of explosives, some 1,400 kilograms of food, 34 communications equipment, 398 kilograms of solid precursors, more than two thousand gallons of liquid precursors and the destruction of 21 illegal units of infrastructure.
