The commander of the Seventh Division of the Army, General Juan Carlos Ramírez Trujillo, announced the beginning of assisted humanitarian demining process, a pilot program that has not been used in any other territory.
This will start in Pogue, municipality of Bojayá, with 90 men, 30 for security and 60 conducting this decontamination. The mission is carried out with EXDE groups, which are specialized teams in handling these explosive devices.
The first step is a baseline to identify the degree of the threat. Later we will see the intervention of the EXDE groups.
Work and information for the community will be the most important. This operation is in the same way carried out along with the office of the High Commissioner for Peace.
