Military intelligence work led to the arrest of two individuals accused of being ringleaders of the Ismael Ruiz Front, in the south of Tolima.
During a joint military operation, carried out by troops of the National Army, Air Force and CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, it was possible the arrest of two individuals accused of being members of the residual organized armed group Frente Ismael Ru铆z. Among those arrested is alias Trasnocho or Sombrer贸n, coordinator of the mobility route that connects the department of Tolima and Cauca, and would be a member of the Support Networks component for residual structures; in the same way, alias Tomate was arrested, an individual accused of being the group ringleader of this Front.
The decisive military operation, carried out by troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 18, attached to the Zeus Consolidation and Stabilization Operational Command, occurred within the framework of three raids carried out in the village La Estrella, municipality of Planadas, and in the village Santiago P茅rez, rural area of Ataco, in the department of Tolima
Alias Trasnocho or Sombrer贸n is accused of participating in the planning of a criminal operation on the last September 2 of the current year, where seven members of the National Police died, in the village San Luis; in the same way, it is presumed that he would be in charge of driving the members of the GAO-r to the scene of the events.
The two men would integrate the armed command and control and support subsystems. They were wanted by the justice through arrest warrants for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes for the purposes of homicide and terrorism.
In the course of the military operation, the troops found war materiel, military accessories, communications, explosives and propaganda alluding to the GAO-r (Western Coordinating Command).
The arrested and the material were put into custody of the authorities in charge of conducting the respective judicial process.
