The military operation led to arrest those who would be accused of extorting civilians and merchants and in the same way of coordinating criminal activities and damages to the critical infrastructure of the region.
Troops of the National Army in a coordinated operation with the National Police, arrested alias Simón or Alexis, who apparently would be the fourth ringleader of the residual organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Adan Izquierdo and who was in the list of the most wanted in the Valle del Cauca department.
Alias Simón or Alexis is accused of extorting civilians and merchants of the village of Zelandia, west of the municipality of Dagua, Valle del Cauca. He in the same way allegedly directed criminal activities and damages to the critical infrastructure of the same municipality.
In the military operation, another individual was in the same way arrested and two minors were recovered who, allegedly were part of this company; three small firearms were found in their possession. The minors were put into custody of the competent authorities for the restoration of their rights.
At the time of the arrest, a pistol, a magazine, ammunition, two traumatic weapons, two motorcycles and communications equipment were seized.
With this result, the criminal and logistical operations of this residual organized armed group in the department are weakened.
