This individual would allegedly be responsible for the murder of Mr. Álvaro Herrán Rojas, in February of this year.
As a result of the military operations coordinated and conducted by the troops of the National Army and the Sijín of the Police, alias Cubarro was arrested through a search procedure, accused of being the ringleader of the group of the Gonzalo Oquendo substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
The arrest took place in the Cristalina village, in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, where the members of the Military Forces arrived after the information provided by the citizens about the whereabouts of the alleged responsible for a homicide carried out this year, in the month of February.
Another individual was in the same way arrested at the scene and a pistol-type firearm was seized, along with two 9 mm cartridges, with a capacity for 31 and 17 cartridges, respectively; 12 9 mm cartridges, a cell phone and four sim cards
Alias Cubarro, among his extensive criminal history, is apparently responsible for carrying out extortion on urban and rural areas of the municipalities of Maní, Aguazul, Tauramena, Villanueva and Hato Corozal, Casanare. He was allegedly a member of the Centauros Bloc in 1998, of the former AUC, where he perpetrated crimes qualified as serious human rights violations and in 2006 he belonged to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.
In 2021, he allegedly participated in terrorist operations against a collective passenger transport bus covering the Trinidad-Pore route, announcing the arrival of the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces in the region; similarly, he is in the same way accused of participating in selective homicides in the Casanare department. He would currently be engaged in selective activities focused on the acquisition of illicit drug trafficking finances, microtrafficking and extortion against of the productive groups of transporters, merchants and ranchers in the village of La Cristalina, in Puerto Gaitán.
This result neutralizes the criminal operations, terrorist plans against the Military Forces and civilians in the north of the department of Meta, and is also a loss to the finances of these armed groups.
