This individual would be in charge of financing the transport of drugs destined for Central America and the United States from the coasts of the Urabá Antioqueño.
In front of a shopping center in the city of Medellín, Special Units of the Colombian Navy in coordination with the Attorney General's Office and with the support of the Drug Control Administration - DEA, arrested Alias Amarillo, an alleged drug trafficker who is wanted by the Court of the Southern District of Florida of the United States, to be extradited for drug trafficking and money laundering crimes.
This 40-year-old individual would be in charge of the logistical and financial subsystem of a drug trafficking structure that commits crimes on the Caribbean Coast, the United States and Europe, linked to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
Six years ago, alias Amarillo would be financing the shipment of cocaine hydrochloride from Turbo - Antioquia bound for Central America and the United States, where monthly speedboats sailed with approximately three tons of drug. In the same way, he made money movements as a result of illicit activities that he later invested in properties, remaining hidden and evading the orders of the authorities.
After arduous naval intelligence work and complying with the guidelines of the National Government, this becomes the first arrest made by the Colombian Navy of an “Invisible drug trafficker,” people who are little known and who take advantage of their low profile to finance illicit activities, obtaining the greatest economic benefit.
With this arrest it was possible to impact the finances of the Organized Criminal Groups and the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo. As well as, to safeguard the human security of peasants and young people, freeing them of the chains of drug trafficking in which they are immersed, taken by the recruitment activities of these multicrime organizations outlaw.
The Colombian Navy will continue to carry out operations that hit the finances of outlaw groups that commit crimes such as drug trafficking in the Colombian Caribbean, with the purpose of continuing to mitigate the security, violence and public health problems derived of the commercialization and consumption of narcotic substances.
