In the framework of the Military and Police Campaign 'Esparta', the soldiers of the Thirtieth Brigade, belonging to the Second Division, carried out military operations achieving the discovery and destruction of three laboratories that were used for the production of coca base paste in the department of Norte de Santander.
The operations were carried out by troops of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No. 5 General Hermógenes Maza and the Infantry Battalion No. 1 'General Simón Bolívar', who they entered the wooded areas of the Fátima and San Luis Alto de Sardinata villages, and Corinto, in Tibú.
