Since very early, a platoon of the Brigade of Engineers for Disaster Assistance and Prevention (BRIAD) arrived at the emergency site to support the removal and evacuation efforts.
Twenty soldiers make up the platoon of the Brigade of Engineers of Assistance and Prevention of Disasters destined to support the tasks of reconnaissance, removal and evacuation during the emergency in several villages of the municipality of Rosas, Cauca, to put at the service of the people all their knowledge and Resources in search and rescue.
This unit of the Military Forces, with differential Resources, has an equipment that leads it to provide support emergencies of such magnitude, as well as floods, mass removal, search and rescue in collapsed structures, specialized dogs and unmanned aircraft with thermal cameras.
It in the same way has the support of military nurses to preserve the life and safety of the people in the hit area.
Together with these Resources, the unit will work in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management UNGRD, to prevent situations that endanger the inhabitants, given that landslides continue to occur in some sectors.
It should be noted that since the early hours of the morning of January 9, soldiers of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade who are part of the High Mountain Battalion No.4 helped hundreds of people who lost everything in the landslide, supporting the transfer of belongings and the management of aid and food.
The soldiers helped evacuate the wounded, sick people and animals that were in the sector to a safe place, joining efforts to ensure the good physical condition of the inhabitants.
The National Army will continue to work in coordination with the institutions to ensure the tranquility and life of each family hit by the natural phenomenon in this region of the country.
