More than 700 meters of hose were installed by the soldiers of the Eighth Brigade in the department of Caldas, to benefit 15 families in a village that had not had drinking water for a year.
In an inter-institutional operation together with the Risk Management Unit of the municipality of Norcasia, Caldas, in the village of El Eden, troops installed more than 700 meters of hose in the mouth of the El Diamante stream, in order to restore water service to 15 families in the rural area.
After a year of precarious access to water, such as collecting rainwater or searching for tanks, these people from eastern Caldas are already supplied with drinking water thanks to the inter-institutional operation.
More than 20 soldiers supported the inhabitants of the sector, mostly children and elderly people. With the installation of the hoses, this resource reaches each of their houses, a way to mitigate risks, to improve their living conditions and give habitability in the territory.
It is gratifying to see how the concept and principle of protection of life is perceived through coordinated work. The collaboration of the soldiers has been fundamental to carry out the activities successfully, it is a sign of the commitment and dedication to the Colombians. It was pointed out by the Director of Risk Management of the Mayor's Office of the municipality of Norcasia Caldas.
This is how the Eighth Brigade of the National Army with its troops of the Ayacucho Battalion in Caldas, reaffirm their commitment to continue working in unified operations for the benefit of the inhabitants of the territory, always trying to solve their basic needs and thus ensure their comprehensive well-being.
