Troops of the Seventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, working for the wellbeing of the communities of the department of Meta, helped the people hit by heavy rains in the village Guayabal de Upía, municipality of Cabuyaro. During a humanitarian work activity of more than 10 hours, the troops provided crucial assistance.
About 160 families were helped to prevent the total loss of their belongings, as well as their domestic and farm animals. The situation occurred after the Upía River overflowed, which caused significant damage and forced displacement.
In addition to the immediate assistance, the troops collaborated in the assessment of damages and needs, coordinating efforts with the Mayor's Office of Cabuyaro, to ensure a comprehensive and effective response. People expressed their gratitude for the support received at this critical time.
Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to always be at the side of the inhabitants, especially in emergency situations, working tirelessly to mitigate the impact of natural disasters and contribute to the speedy recovery of the disturbed areas.
