This inter-agency operation with the Attorney’s Office dealt a blow to illegal incomes valued at more than USD $1.5 million.
Military operations in the southwest of Colombia still being carried out. This time, the National Army neutralized a coca-based paste production laboratory in the village of El Balcón, in the municipality of Cumbitara, in the north the department of Nariño.
Information provided by military intelligence led troops’ insertion by helicopter. Two structures, where chemical supplies were stored for the preparation of the drug, were found.
1,700 kilograms of coca-based paste, communications equipment, ammunition, military accessories and armament were found. The drug and these elements were put into custody of the authorities.
In less than a week, the National Army has dealt heavy blows to drug trafficking groups valued at USD $7 million. It shows the vehement commitment to attack the instability factors that harm the department of Nariño.
