The operations carried out by soldiers of the Seventh Division of the National Army were concentrated in the departments of Antioquia, C贸rdoba and Choc贸, getting the surrender to justice and arrest of 10 alleged members of the illegal group.
As a result of the permanent operation and the continuous actions carried out by the soldiers of the National Army, jointly, coordinated and interinstitutional with the National Navy, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, important results were possible against the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in these areas of the country.
In the first operation by the Joint Task Force Titan in rural area of the municipality of Bojay谩, department of Choc贸, three alleged members of the Pablo Jos茅 Montalvo Cuitiva substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, surrendered to justice. In the military operation was in the same way found an illegal hideout with explosives, which were destroyed. In the same way, in the municipality of Condoto, in the same department, an alleged member of the Heroes de Jes煤s Carretera substructure, of the same illegal group, was arrested.
On the other hand, in the municipalities of Taraz谩 and Caucasia, in Antioquia, and Puerto Libertador, in the department of C贸rdoba, soldiers of the Joint Task Force Aquiles arrested four individuals, who would belong to the Julio Cesar Vargas and Rub茅n Dar铆o 脕vila substructures, of the GAO Clan del Golfo. In the operations, three 9mm caliber pistol-type firearms, three communication radios and 2 cell phones were found by troops, among other items.
Those arrested, along with the material, were put into custody of the authorities, and must face charges of association to commit aggravated crimes and extortion, as well as manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms, parts or ammunition.
In the same way, soldiers of the Fourth Brigade who were carrying out operations in the municipalities of Andes and Urrao, southwest of Antioquia, reported the arrest of an alleged member of the Carlos V谩squez substructure and the surrender to justice of another man of the Southwestern substructure of the Clan del Golfo was possible. A fragmentation grenade and two cellular communication equipment were found by troops in the military operation.
Finally, the finances of the various armed groups who commit crimes in the region have been hit, especially on the activities related to drug trafficking, having into account the 2 913 hectares of illicit plantations that have been eradicated by the soldiers of this military unit.
