This decisive result was possible thanks to the work conducted by troops of the National Army and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office.
This important result is realized thanks to the territorial control work carried out by military personnel of the Military Police Battalion No.3, by installing a checkpoint on the road that leads from Palmira to the municipality of Santiago de Cali, in the department of Valle del Cauca, where the soldiers conducted the inspection of a truck, and with the use of a trained dog it was determined that inside the container there was some irregular substance.
The security protocols are immediately activated and thanks to the rapid operation of the No.2 Drug Brigade and the Technical Investigation Corps that immediately arrived at the scene, the vehicle was moved to carry out the chemical tests with the in order to determine the content of this substance.
After conducting a thorough inspection accompanied by the Attorney General's Office and authorities, it was reported that more than 2,900 out of the 50,000 cans that were inside the vehicle's container, were contaminated with liquid cocaine. After a long process, it was determined that the total amount of the cocaine was 1,100 kilograms.
According to the latest information, this vehicle left Medellin, Antioquia, with the intention of picking up the cargo in Valle del Cauca and subsequently arriving in Cartagena, and there it would be sent to the European continent, more precisely to Belgium. This narcotic would belong to the residual Organized Armed Group GAO ‘Oliver Sinisterra’, under the command of Carlos Arturo Landazuri Cortés, aka ‘El Gringo’.
